Moved threads display incorrect information in the threads list

It may be a bit irritating, but the respective question was asked in the wrong forum. The mods can move the question directly to another subforum, or place a link to the new subforum within the previous one. Actually, this serves to redirect possibly existing URLs to the old forum to the new one.

So I (and probably all mods) would have to think about what makes more sense:

• moving without this reference and no longer working URLs of the TO (irritating for the TO)
• moving with this reference and functioning URLs of the TO (irritating for the normal community user)

Maybe the community users should vote on this (+reference vs -reference)?

IMO the reference is perfectly OK; it's just that the original thread should not be presented as being originated by the Moderator/Admin who made the change, in the threads list.

Btw. how are threads, logically belonging to several subfora simultaneously, to be treated properly? In this regard, Salesforce was somewhat better, although I admit that was an unusual and potentially problematic approach (and I am not crying it back :‑) ).

Oh, I see what you meant now. It is indeed funny that I appear as the apparent creator of the (moved) thread, even though I only moved it. It's even more confusing from that perspective....
However, if I omit the reference, even the TO won't find it again straight away if he finds it in the original forum.

@Lina_DABASINSKAITE Interesting note that when moving a thread, the original creator should somehow be more visible rather than the person who moved it. Perhaps in the form "'thread owner name' - moved by 'XYZ'".

Sub-forums: we have tried to organise the forums in such a way that topics do not belong to several forums, but can very well have several labels. These labels can be seen as sub-forums. When a thread is edited by the user or the mods, these labels can also be changed.

You mean tags? (I don't subscribe to indiscriminately change long time defacto standard terminology, just because obvious newcomers think they know better. Yes, it's directories, not folders :‑) ).

Humm. Okay. I've already requested user-assignable tags (lazy to look up that thread), wonder what would come out of it.

Ok, you got me again… I mean indeed tags. Anyway, you know the community is still work in progress.

On the subject of folders vs. directories: This can lead into endless discussions. Maybe it's a good idea to point disbelievers to URLs like stackoverflow or baeldung.
