Connect power, ground, I2C (SCL and SDA) and the shutdown pin that we have completely misnamed as GPIOCE (chip enable)

lifting CE is all you really need.

The one thing to notice is that the AVDD is NOT 3v3.

The easy way to get set up is to buy the VL6180 Satellite board from ST.

There are several other companies that make one. ADAFruit and Pololu are choices.

Find one with with an LDO that takes your power inputs and lowers it to the 2.8.
