I have a single 'known good' VL53L0X hooked up to an Arduino Mega 2560 through a bidirectional level shifter. I have a project where I am attempting to use six ST Microelectronics VL53L0X Time-of-Flight (ToF) sensors grouped into two 3-element arrays for position/orientation sensing on an autonomous wall-following robot. I originally had both arrays installed on Wire1 of a Teensy 3.5, but discovered that only 4 of the 6 elements were reporting 'real' values. After screwing around for a while, I came to the conclusion that the integral 10K pullup resistors on each sensor (times 6) was too much for the I2C bus. So, I decided to move one of the two 3-element arrays to Wire2, so I would be driving three sets of 10K pullups on Wire1 and three sets of 10K pullups on Wire2.Unfortunately, even with the arrays split over the two secondary I2C busses, I can't get all six sensors to operate properly. One array of three elements will report believable values, but one or more of the other array will not. I am currently in the process of doing a study on the VL53L0X, VL53L1X, VL6180X, VL6180 sensor I carry out distance and air gap tests on each sensor, the goal is to choose the ideal sensor to carry out proximity detection for the access control. So I would like to know how to reduce the detection distance for example the VL53L1X detects up to 400cm how to reduce the detection to 20cm for example.

Hello,I've just bought a VL53L3CX board and connected it to a Raspbery Pi 3 B+.I downloaded the Linux Driver "en.VL53L3CX_LinuxDriver.zip" but I can't find any document explaining how to install this driver?Any help is welcome.

Apologies if this is a dumb question or fairly simple. I plan to use the VL53L1X to measure the velocity of an object for a university project and was wondering if there is a way to extract the velocity of the object from the distance/range measurements?Would the only way to do that be to calculate the time in between measurements and use the difference in distance to get velocity? Or is there a way I could use the speed of light or the time taken between measurements to extract velocity?

vl53l0x was working good at start. I have connected i2c thermal camera in parallel with vl53lox sensor.. It was working good for past 3days.and then suddenly sometimes it stops updating the reading. When i restart it, it was working normal. Suddenly it today it stopped working permanently. it says failed to boot. I have tried single sensor also but same error is coming. Can you suggest me what would be the issue?

We are using a VL6180X to set the state of GPIO1 when the detected distance goes outside a range. That part appears to work fine, until for no reason we can determine the VL6180X stops responding to any I2C requests. The only way we have been able to get it to start responding again is to power cycle. Has anyone else had such issues, or have any suggestions? We are running it in continuous range measurement mode, reading the results periodically.

ST say that VL53L1 family integrates a SPAD (single photon avalanche diode) array, physical infrared filters ...​If I use this sensor in close proximity with a device that emits light at a wavelength of 850 nm, I need IR filter information to predict how much this sensor will be affected by light at a wavelength of 850 nm IR.If I can clearly see the optical performance like the product in the link below, I will be able to find out what needs to be done with or without the 850 nm device.​https://midopt.com/filters/bn940/But at least if I can know the center wavelength and FWHM information for the IR filter of the VL53L1 family, it would be very helpful for me to make the device.Thanks in advance to STMicroelectronics engineers.

Hi,For a project, I am trying to interface the VL53L1 sensor with the MSP432P401R development board using the API from ST. I'm writing the functions for writing and reading all the bits using I2C, and I was wondering what was the explicit purpose for the function. Is it ok to simply read and write? Or is it mandatory to use a timeout. Also, are functions like VL53L1_WaitUs() and VL53L1_GetTimerFrequency() mandatory?Thanks,-Lucas

I want to use multiple VL53L1x sensor with same I2c bus so can we change sensors address

I have a VL53L1X connected to a multi-slave I2C bus hosted by a broadcom bcm2835 running linux (4.19). I have configured the `vl53l1_platform.c` from the api ("stsw-img007") to use the <linux/i2c-dev.h> interface with tracing and see bi-direction communication. However, after that `StartMeasurement` call, GetMeasurementDataReady consistently reports that data is not ready, despite waiting for minutes. Since there is no published i2c command/register list/help (?), I am working in the dark. Can someone familiar with this device's i2c interface take a look? If anyone could help me point to location in the API where I could implment "Autonomous low-power mode".And on "Autonomous low-power mode" what is the expected current draw?for a battery operated project what should I tweak in the API to get more power savings?Thanks in advance.

Hi there,My application is battery operated, so I’m trying to wake up atmega328p from deep sleep from an interrupt though the GPIO pin from the sensor. I'm using Thresholds, "inside window". If any object ditected inside the range, to fire a trigger to wake up the host. Is such thing possible?If yes, could you give me some pointers or code samples please?My host platform is Arduino Pro Mini @ 8Mhz 3.3v.Thanks!

Sensors are close to each other (let's say, 30cm). The range is the medium-long one. Their FOV may overlap in production. I'm using ULD. Does this means that I have to VL53L1X_StartRanging and then wait for its result before calling VL53L1X_StartRanging of another sensor?Thank you
