VL53L1X 50 Hz ranging frequency unavailable?

User manual said "It is the fastest

miniature ToF sensor on the market with accurate

ranging up to 4 m and fast ranging frequency up to

50 Hz"

I could not reach such frequency with all possible tested configuration. The best result was 37 Hz with the values of TimingBudget 10mS and Inter Measurement Period 5 mS in short range mode. I do understand that the last value is wrong, but it is the only way to reach such speed.

So, what do I wrong and what is the way to reach 50 Hz?

the InterMeasurement Period (IMP) is from the start of one range to the start of the next range.

So to reach 50 Hz, set the intermeasurement period 20ms. Choose a Timing budget 7.5% percent or so lower than the IM. 18,500 should do it. Any more than that, you will 'miss' the start time and you will have to wait another 20ms, cutting your number of ranges per second in half.
