VL53L1X reduced FoV

According to the docs I've read maximum FoV using 16x16 SPADs is 27 degrees and minimum FoV using 4x4 SPADs is 15 degrees. But if my math is correct, when side of the measured area is 1/4th then the FoV should be approx. 6.7 degrees. Aren't the SPADs of the same size or is there something else affecting the calculation?

​In order to keep the height of the chip short enough to be used in a cell phone, the lens was not placed far enough away to get a really good focus. So although your numbers are right, the lack of a good focus means the best you can really do in testing was about 15 degrees.

Keep in mind that these are 'diagonal' FoV numbers. If your target is moving along the centerline of the sensor, your test results will be closer to 10 degrees.

If you have a lot of time to take measurements, you can select a 4x4 Region of Intererst (ROI), Then move the ROI one SPAD to the left or right and go again. If you 'bracket' your ranges, you can get a bit more information, but at he cost of more time.

Thank you for reminding that it's diagonal, I've missed that in the datasheet.
