Why I can't get vl53l0x to work with RAK3172?

Hello guys, I am trying to use VL53L0X with old version of VL53L0X API (There is an issue with new version aapi with windows.h). Status always returns -20. Why is that?

The API works, but what does NOT work is the platform layer. Platform.c, Platform.h and sometimes platform_init.c are responsible for converting the I2C read_byte, write_byte and read_word and write_word.

if the I2C fails, then that's the problem. (The sensor has errors from 1 to 12, but your -20 is an I2C issue.

Take a look at this app note. it does all the read/write combinations and verifies them. When you get this to run, you are all set and can remove the code.

but look at the platform files and re-write them for you MCU.

(if you cut and paste there are some odd Word formatting. Replace the lines with errors by simply retyping them. It will remove the error.)
