Expected range for S2-LP at 826 MHz

Hello,

We are using S2-LP (the 826-958 MHz version S2-LPQTR) for application which uses 826 MHz as a base frequency.

"AN5528 Radio communication range estimation in ISM band" gives some results about the S2-LP range at 868 MHz base frequency.

Could you give an estimate, whether the range at 826 MHz should be more or less the same as at 868 MHz or could it be considerably shorter?

Hello,

Range should not be considerably shorter as the more the frequency decreases the more the range can increase. There will be a power issue if you use eval board, you should check for component datasheet (S21 parameter or return loss diagram) on RF path like balun and antenna, there may be not as effective at 868 as at 826.

Watch your frequency, from what I know, there is no free band below 862 MHz.
