Snaphat M4T32-BR12SH6 - expected battery life is lower than 10 years

I'm using the snaphat M4T32-BR12SH6 (battery + crystal) with RTC M41T94.

The battery life is short, after less than 1 year, the battery voltage is lower than 2.5 V and the RTC does not work well.

And according to the datasheet, the minimum expected life is 10 years!

I suspect that the manufacturing date is old, probably manufactured in 2013, but could it still operate for another 3 years or not?

    Howdy,

I am a ST Sales guy for the USA. This product is no longer supported with application support.

To answer your question this is a Li battery. Li batteries if not recharged on a regular basis will have diminished life.

ST warrants their products for 2 years after shipped. 1 year after placed on board.

    Short story long...

The battery on your device is compromised and cannot be restored. It is encapsulated. You will have to purchase new product from ST and insure the date code is 2019 or higher.
