SPIRIT1 data rate at 169 MHz?

I'm looking at designing the SPIRIT1 into a new design.

The datasheet suggests up to 500 kbps (over the air), is this true for all bands, i.e. will I see 500 kbps at 169 MHz? This would make it much more appealing.

Yes, you should be able to program it up to 500kbps. It is important to note that at high datarates, the communication can become unreliable. If you do plan on increasing datarate, you should also increase the amount of preamble words to make the communication more steady (i.e. 4 bytes of preamble word at 38.5kbps might be good but 4 bytes of preamble word at 150kbps might cause the receiver to miss some of the packets).
