Question

I am looking into use of LSM6DSO into one of our projects. The Datasheet does not define any sensitivity of this device to magnetic fields. Would want to use this device in close proximity to a Permanent magnet field - suggestions pls.

    Hi @Bharat.Suji ,

The LSM6DSO is not sensitive to the magnetic field, since it has no metal / magnetic components inside. There is no absolute maximum ratings on the magnetic field, but of course it depends on the intensity of it... how many Gauss is your application targeting?

    Dear Eleon,

Simulation results have shown that the sensor would be experiencing 150 Gauss (15 m Tesla) intensity.

    Kindly Suggest.

    Dear Eleon,

We have planned magnetic field simulation w.r.t proximity and would be able to revert on intensity shortly. Shall get back to you once we have results of the same.

    Thanks and Regards,

    Hi @Bharat.Suji ,

you might consider the LSM303AGR device as reference. It is an accelerometer combined with a magnetometer, and for this device the Maximum exposed field in the absolute maximum ratings is reported as 10000 gauss (datasheet p.19). The LSM6DSO is similar to LSM303AGR regarding the magnetic field immunity, so you can consider the same value. This is well below the 150 Gauss you are stating, so you should face no issue in your application.
