My question is in relation to the single and double tap generated events (on INT2 pins).1�) When I single tap on the sensor I have an interruption on INT2. If I read TAP_SRC (1Ch) I have :Z_TAP:1 Y_TAP:0 X_TAP:0 TAP_SIGN:1 DOUBLE_TAP:0 SINGLE_TAP:1 TAP_IA:0Note : I would expect TAP_IA to 1 but anyway it is working.2�) When I double tap on the sensor I have 2 interruptions on INT2. If I read TAP_SRC for each interruption, I have :- first one : Z_TAP:1 Y_TAP:0 X_TAP:0 TAP_SIGN:1 DOUBLE_TAP:0 SINGLE_TAP:1 TAP_IA:0- second one : Z_TAP:1 Y_TAP:0 X_TAP:0 TAP_SIGN:1 DOUBLE_TAP:1 SINGLE_TAP:0 TAP_IA:1Is there any way by configuring (correctly) the sensor to not have 2 interruptions for a double tap ?Or If the TAP_IA for a single tap was equal to 1 I would be able to know if it was a single Tap or a double tap (even with the first faulty interruption)Thanks in advance for any help.#double-single-tap #data-register #ac

Hi:We are trying to use LIS2DE12 motion interrupt to wake up a MCU as well as no motion interrupt so MCU can sleep.Issue #1: Unexpected Interrupt from LIS2DE12 after initialized to detect a motionLIS is configured as the following setting:1. CTRL_REG1=0x1F: ODR=1Hz, Z & Y & X all enabled. LPen=1. 2. CTRL_REG2=0xF1:Again manual doesn't give detailed description especially to the HPF mode. b7b6=11 means autoreset on interrupt event. b5b4=11 means cutoff frequency at 0.002Hz at ODR=1Hz. b0=1 means HP on Interrupt 1.3. CTRL_REG3=0x40: b6=1 means IA1 on INT1.4. CTRL_REG4=0x00: Continuousdata update, scale at +/-2g. Also I2C is chosen and self-test is disabled.5. CTRL_REG5:=0x08: Normal mode. Hello,the STEVAL-MIC007V1 with the IMP23ABSU is on the first sight quiet interesting with the microphone bandwith up to 80kHz. However (due to imprecise reading from me) it turned out that this is a analog MEMS microphone. The STEVAL-MIC001V1 with the MP34DT05-A on the other hand is a digital MEMS microphone which puts out a PDM signal, which is in my opinion/application more suitable. But the 80kHz Bandwidth is more interesting toward industrial applications, but when using the STM32L496 the maximum frequency for the ADC is 80MHz and I would need 160MHz to sample the signal without aliasing. My question is: Is there an alternative digital MEMS microphone with 80kHz bandwidth with PDM output (STEVAL?) or is there a "easy" preprocessing implementation for the IMP23ABSU (also with minimal external electronic)?Best regards,ChRegBrg

Hi there,I was working on the LIS2DH12 for one of our applications and found that the LSI2DH12 is not able to work on a supply voltage greater than 2.7V. Is there any condition to operate the device on a voltage greater than 2.7V? In my application, I am operating at 3.3V, but I am not able to communicate with the device at this voltage. And when I drop the voltage level from 3.3 to 2.7V, it works fine.It would be really appreciable if you could share details to operate the device on 3.3V.Looking forward to hearing back from you soon. Warm regards,Sarthak Malik

I have a board developed by one of my colleague, that uses a STM32G474RE microcontroller and in his SPI1 I had both an LPS25HB (Mems ST barometer) and too an acelerometer SCA3300. I am suspecting that the ODR setting in my application is not correct. I want to be using 25Hz so according to the datasheet I would set register address 39h to 48h. 25Hz equals 001 which would give 01001000 = 48h.But all examples and also the Unico tool outputs 4Bh instead of 48h. Am I missing something or should the last two LSB bits always be 1 instead of 0?

I've changed from LIS2DH to IIS2DH, without changing the drivers sources. According to the datasheet, there should be no problem doing this.In the application the accelerator is used to detect each motion of the device. If the device keeps un-motioned, it will channge an internal state into deepsleep. Once motioned again, the device will be waked up. When woken up, some other actions will be done.Now I have the problem, that the IIS2DH sets multiple interrupts on INT1. HiI currently try to integrate the STEVAL-MKI168V1 for a development board via I2C.I use a TI MCU and use the default drivers provided by ST. The sensor does not respond to the defined I2C addresses of 0x31 resp. 0x33 if SA0=1. After doing a I2C scan I found out, the sensor responds to address 0x18 resp. 0x19 if SA0=1. Is this normal behavior?Using the 0x18 address, I can communicate with the sensor and receive the correct whoamI returnvalue of 0x33. Hi everyone,I am using an LSM6DS3 IMU sensor for my current project.In Application Note AN4650, I read that the gyroscope analog signal coming from the mechanical parts is filtered by a low-pass anti-aliasing filter (having a constant bandwidth). Hi,I am on a steep learning curve here. There are huge gaps in my understanding of the field, so any help will be most appreciated. Basically I am trying to connect to AIS2ih accelerometer (on Steval-mki218v1) with my Nucleo board, and try to communicate with it. So far I do fail miserably, and have no idea what am I missing. Basically I am getting the i2c slave address of the AIS2ih, and some register addresses (CTRL1, and CTRL6), than I try to write to them to start the accelerometer, after that I am trying to read Who_am_I register just to get some feedback that the concept is working, but it is not.Here is my code (not really mine, but an adaptation really), and photo of my wiring. I recently bought LSM6DS3TR-C sensor from local market. I tried to measure the accelerometer using Adafruit_LSM6DS and SparkFun_LSM6DS3_Arduino_Library library. In both case the sensor was not recognized. I found the sensor was working. It responded to my I2C communication. The identification register aka WHO_AM_I register held the value 0x6A. I am new in this area. Is the sensor the right one. Is there any easy library for reading accelerometer data from the sensor? I am attaching the sensor's picture. Your help will be very much appreciated.

I have STEVAL-MKI208V1K but not its own compatible motherboard. I want to use IIS3DWB sensor. When i connec SDA, SCL, GND and VDD(for vdd i have tried 3v3 and 5v), HAL_OK said HAL_ERROR. Is this STEVAL-MKI208V1K can be used standalone or no? Thanks for helping

Hi,My thesis topic is to develop a dynamic preventive maintenance schedule for medical devices based on their usage. For this purpose, I have been collecting data using a magnetometer sensor (, we use IIS2MDC) 24/7 for the past 3 months. I need guidance on how to analyze the data from the three axes. Standard deviation seems to provide accurate results in determining the duration of device usage. However, I am concerned about the presence of noise in the real data and the potential reasons for fluctuations. Could you provide insights on how to interpret the data and what percentage of error can be considered normal?

I would like to read out the pressure reading from this sensor, but it keep returning '0' Status.Tools: Nucleo-767ZI, STM32CUBEIDE, STEVAL-220VI (the sensor eval)I connect Sensor VDD to 3.3V,CS pin to VDD_IO,SDA, SCL pulled up by 4kOhm to 3.3V,INT/DRDY pin left unconnected,SAO address to GND.Using Device Address = 5Ch (I did the 1 bit-shifting), I started to read 4 registers directly from Status Register 27h, together with measured pressure 28, 29, 2Ah, into an 8 bits array. I'm using the LSM6DSOX which can measure ±2000dps and ±16g for each axis with the correct settings. I'm wondering if there is a reliable way to detect if the motion of the sensor went beyond those limits during a given time window. Does the sensor reliably return the maximum/minimum 16bit integer value? Is there some other trick?

Hello,We are using the LIS2DH12TR sensor in our project. As per the datasheet, I understand that it always shows +1g on the +Z-axis when the IC is at rest.We are operating the sensor in HR mode under different modes  2g, 4g, 8g and also in 16g mode. But strangely the raw values are always near 16384 (0x4000). I tried the same experiment with Low power mode and also normal mode. Still, the values are the same. I tried tilting the board making the X-axis and also Y-axis point to the sky, in that case, the respective axis shows a raw value near 16384 always. If the respective axis is pointed towards the earth, then the sensor reads a value near -16384 (0xC000)Please help me understand how to convert the raw values to engineering values. It would be really helpful if anyone could break down the calculations for 4g. 8g and 16g (as I have gone through the 2g example), like what values should we expect when the board is kept at rest where Z-axis is pointing upwards and the

Hello,I am using a LSM6DSO32 on a custom board.  As an attempt to save power in sleep mode we want to place the device in ULP (ultra low power mode) as specified by the datasheet.  I have attached my function that initializes the device in ULP mode and enables wake up interrupt.  I see the same power draw wether or notctrl5.xl_ulp_mode is set.  Can anyone advise what I am doing wrong. Thanks!-Jamie

Hello. I made all the adjustments for my STEVAL kit. I also installed the necessary binary file in the Wifi module (Dsh predmnt). According to the guide I gave in the link, I stay on page 12 step 8. When I enter the wifi id password, it does not connect. My wifi module just lights up yellow red. Can you help me why the problem is caused?I installed the DSH-PREDMNT binary file only on the wifi module. I did not install it on the STEVAL kit. could the problem be caused by this?
