Dear Sir,

Our project using LSM6DSO IMU to detect the position, the sensor temperature is very high after power on and Initialization, it's over 80 degree, I think it's abnormal, I attach the sch, can you give some suggestions, thanks a lot.

Hi @Jali ,

No, if INT2 is not used, leave it floating or connect it to ground through a resistor as per datasheet recommendations.

Hi @Jali ,

I confirm you that such a temperature value is abnormal. Here are some suggestions:

  • Ensure the sensor is powered at the correct voltage (typically 1.8 V for LSM6DSO). Overvoltage can cause excessive power dissipation and heating.
  • Ensure no shorts or wiring mistakes on the I2C lines or chip pins that could cause excessive current draw.
  • Start with the sensor in low-power or power-down mode and verify temperature behavior before enabling full operation.
  • Use an IR thermometer or thermal camera to confirm the actual sensor temperature.

Hi  Federica,

we connect the INT2 pin to vcc directly, is it right?
