Is T1620T-8I on OK alternate to BTA16-600BRG
I have a circuit very similar to AN4993 figure 7 that used a BTA16 Triac. They have become hard to find, so I am looking at replacing it with the more modern T1620T-8I , which is a snubberless triac.
After reading AN4993 several times, I just want to confirm I have this right. The triac in my circuit is only operating in Q2, and Q3, so the snubberless device with similar specs should work fine since Q4 is not used. Do I have it right?
