l7987l Arcing across soft start pin

Hi,

L7987L IC is used for generating -15V from 24V supply. it was working OK up to 12V, upon further increasing Supply Voltage we found arc at the soft start pin.

Can you please explain in more detail what you mean by ‘arc at the softstart pin’?

Can you please upload a schematic, including the layout around the L7987L (a photo of both is sufficient, preferably as an image and not as an attachment).
