L9502: How to understand the SPI Frame Counter and SPI Interframe delay?

I'm working on a project to use L9502 for PWM output diagnostic. But we can't be sure how to config the Frame Counter bit in SPI message. Is it need to update the frame counter every time, or it just need to update it in consecutive frames?

And for the consecutive frames, should we follow the SPI interframe delay electrical characteristics?
