LDL212DR parallel operation

Hello,

I would like top know if twop LDL212DR regulators can be used in parallel as below. Do you recommend a power pad if I have a 12V ionput and a 6V 150mA output?

No, it is not a good idea to simply connect LDOs in parallel, there are more complex solutions for this. It is an even worse idea to use the LDL112 for your input voltage of 12V - it has an absolute maximum input voltage of 7V, above which it will be destroyed.

Why not just use the L78M or L78 (also available as fixed voltage version for 6V), for example, which have a drop-out voltage of at least 2V, but can generate 6V from 8...35V without any problems. However, despite the relatively large package, you would have to provide as large a copper surface as possible as a heat sink, because the 900mW would otherwise lead to a clearly noticeable increase in temperature.

Is there something equivalent to the L78M but with adjustable output?

Yes, there are plenty of them, e.g. the LD1117, LD1117A, LM317 or LM317M. You can filter them from the list of Standard Voltage Regulators.
