Min. SPI Baudrate PowerStep01

According to the datasheet of the powerstep01 driver, a minimal baudrate of 5MHz has to be respected for the SPI interface. Is there any technical reason for that or can a lower (lets say <1MHz) baudrate be used for communication?

Hello @pf8645​ and welcome to the ST Community.

The 5 MHz is the Maximum SPI clock frequency - see powerSTEP01 datasheet at page14.

So you can use a SPI clock frequency lower than this value.

In fact, the data sheet is somewhat misleading at first glance because it does not state the

• SPI clock frequency

but rather the

• Maximum SPI clock frequency

as mentioned by Cristiana.

Thanks a lot for the answers, I was indeed a bit confused by the datasheet, since the max frequency is stated in the "min." column.
