STC3100 Calibration

Hi together,

ive read in the Datasheet that the STC3100 can be calibrated.

The GG_CAL Bit (Bit 3 in REG_MODE @ Adress 0) can be set to short the analog Inputs together, allowing to compensate for Offset Errors.

But how do i have to use this Bit? Just set it and wait for it to be cleared by Hardware? Or do i have to manually read the Current Register and write that Value somewhere else? Is Calibration done automatically by the Hardware or do i have to do it manually in Software?

Datasheet: https://www.st.com/resource/en/datasheet/stc3100.pdf

Thanks in Advance
