Hi, I'm new with STM microcontrollers. I have several years programming Microchip PIC and develops with this other brand.

I want to start a project with this Brand STM, then I bought a Nucleo F411. With this one I tried some examples an all worked fine. Then I bought an STEVAL-CTM011V1A and STEVAL-CTM012V1A to evaluete the Motor Control, I need to decide Driver, Controller, Power, etc.

With this board I purchased the suggested STLINK-V3 programmer with the isolator accessory. Could someone help me explain how I program the STEVAL board with the STLINK? There isn't much explanation for that, I've been searching and can't find an answer.

While I have experience programming other things, I can't figure this out.

I would appreciate the help.

You connect the ST-Link to the SWD connector on the board - see Fig 2 in the User Manual.

Hi.
Thank you, but the SWD connector un the STLINK is not compatible with the SWD connector on the board.
The STLINK came with several flat cables and a colorfull cables for other connector (CN9).
I don't understand why the connectors on the programmer and the STEVAL board are not compatible. Do I have to make a special cable to connect the STD14 of the STLINK with the SWD of the STEVAL?

It does seem pretty dumb - especially as the standard debug connectors for ARM chips are so well established!
