STEVAL-HKI001V2 - board selection

Hello,

I am an absolute beginner.

I am trying to create my first project to use with my STEVAL-HKI001V2 board.

I cannot find this board in the list of boards to select from. How should I deal with the situation? Is there a way to add/import more boards, including this, to the list?

Thank you!

Welcome @adina25, to the community!

In which tool did you want to select this board?
However, you must also take into account that the STEVAL-HKI001V2 is already set to NRND (Not Recommended for New Design).

Thank you for the reply, Peter.

It is true that I had this board on a shelf for more than a year, and only now I got to try to use it.

I attempted to use STM32CubeIDE. Are there other tools I can use, given my relatively low level of experience?

I will look into buying a current board or try other directions.

Thank you!

Adina

You can use the STM32CubeIDE for this, but as far as I know there is no ready-made project or template for it, so it would have to be created from scratch.

An alternative board for this performance class is currently (2024) not available from ST.

Good luck!

Thank you, I won't look for an alternative board.

Is there any documentation on how to start a project from scratch? For novice users, ideally.

Thank you,

Adina

The power class of several kilowatts is anything but harmless and requires extensive specialised high power equipment and measurement devices, so I recommend that beginners start with a smaller project.

As mentioned, the board is already on NRND, so there is no additional information available beyond what is on the product website.

I do agree with your safety concern and thank you for stating it.

I have all the high power equipment needed, and I am knowledgeable and comfortable using them. My lack of experience is related to using these boards (any ST boards).

I'll need to find safe ways to learn. Or give up.

Thank you,

Adina
