We had selected ST1S12G12R for one of our projects. Now the part is not available. Is there any pin compatible part available?

No, unfortunately there is exactly one buck regulator in this package in the STMicroelectronics portfolio - the ST1S12G12R.

We are very sorry, but with the still extremely high worldwide demand, no one can provide alternatives or other capacities in the medium or short term. The only option at the moment is to order very proactively and for the long term.

We people in Electronics design is out of clues now a days, how to select components for an upcoming project. During the planning the components are available with manufacturers and dealers. But after two or three weeks, when the procurement begin, the component is out of stock worldwide.

I completely understand your problem, but it is often ignored that the manufacturing process of a semiconductor component is an extremely complex one.

When the Corona pandemic started, many people stocked up on toilet paper and it was only available on allocation for a long time, if at all. In the case of toilet paper, the problem was solved quite quickly, but a new factory for semiconductor components takes several years until new components tumble out of the back. Unfortunately, this time is not over yet, which is why the current problem is not only at STMicroelectronics, but worldwide. By the way, the manufacturers of machines for chip production have the same problem, so we are chasing our own tail.

I am very sorry not to be able to give more positive news.
