Question

B-G431B-ESC1 not connecting to Motor Pilot

I have crated a start project for the B-G431B-ESC1 using MC Workbench 6.3.0

I used the following settings:

Motor 'Bull Running BR2804-1700kV' and Inverter 'B-G431B-ESC1' the project User Interface show ON for 'Over USART A' at 115200 baud.

I can build code and debug using onboard STLINK but cannot connect to start the motor using Motor Pilot. The COM port is detected and Motor Pilot tries various speeds but no connection.

How can I fix this?

It was a straight forward connection for me. See if the Serial is not busy with some other application. It can only communicate with one interface at a time. You can also paste a screenshot of your setup/Motor Pilot.

Please confirm the MC Workbench options for the project that works for you, and I will try them.

    Or post your workbench file.

    Thanks, Ian

It's been a while since I worked with the B-G431B-ESC1. I don't have the files on me unfortunately. If I get around them, I'll post here.

In the meantime, are you still running into that issue?

I was able to connect to a 6-step version of the software. Maybe there was an issue with the FOC software getting stuck in an IRQ handler and not responding to the UART.

I haven't tried the 6-step commutation yet. How is it with current draw?
