Question

Bug in Motor Pilot V0.9.20 from ST MCW 5.Y.4.21553 Rev-up Phases Configuration?

My setup:

NUCLEO-F446RE and STEVAL-IPM15B

"ST Motor Control Workbench" "Power Stage - Current Sensing" settings:

  • Shunt resistors value: 0.04 Ohm (also on PCB, but User Manual um-2014-1500-... says 0.08 ohm, another mismatch)
  • Amplifying network gain: 2.10
  • T-rise: 1500
  • T-noise: 2000

These values are in "power_stage_parameters.h" too.

However, Motor Pilot in "Rev-up" tab, "Phases configuration" -> click "Read all", reads as follows:

  • RShunt: 0.0050 ohm
  • OPAMP Gain: 24
  • Vref: 3.3 V

That effectively lowers down current/torque about 30% in rev-up phase.

Is it a bug or a feature? Motor Pilot does not read RShunt and gain values from the firmware?

Thank you.

Hello,

"Read all" corresponds to full fill the "Phase configuration" table only. If you want to display the table in "Amp" format and not in "S16A" format, you have to enter manually the "Rshunt" box values in order to have a correct conversion.

Best regards.
