Question

Can't reach application speed

MCSDK Version is 6.2.1.

I'm currently having the issue that our motor doesn't reach the configured application speed of 7600RPM.
It stops increasing in speed at around 6500RPM.

The motor is slightly loaded for my tests. I'm running in Torque mode with the target torque set to the 150A the design can and does handle. The torque maxes out at around 30A, so phase current is not an issue here.
The High Frequency Plot shows a phase voltage V_Q of 7V. The system voltage is 12V.

What is the limiting factor here and what can I do to reach the application speed?

Hello @DMeie.2,

What is the WorkBench "Max Modulation" value available in "Current Sensing" tab? If the reported value is not 100%, could you please try with a decreased PWM frequency and then an higher modulation index?

If you agree with the answer, please accept it by clicking on 'Accept as solution'.Best regards.GMA

Max. Modulation is reported to be 100% by the MCWB tool.

We made another discovery in this case meanwhile.
When we turn up the supply voltage to 14V, the max speed is reached.
We are currently doing some measurements regarding voltage losses in our board.
