Hi, I would like to get some informations about using timer prescaler in encoder mode. Is it allowed practice or it shouldn't be used?
First of all it works for me just as I wanted: Using prescaler "4" increments CNT every 4 encoder detections. It solves problem of CNT overflow in bigger resolution encoders. I know it could gain errors every motor direction change, but this is not a problem in application.
I found informations that this solution doesn't work for people and shouldn't be used.
What is STM's official position?
