Debugging SPC56 with AEK-MCU-SPC5LNKU

I recently bought the STEVAL-TTM002V1 along with the AEK-MCU-SPC5LNKU debugger since it was mentioned support for SPC56 would be available before 2024. However, I haven't been able to get the AEK-MCU-SPC5LNKU debugger to work with the SPC56.

  1. I'm wondering whether the support for SPC56 debugging with the AEK-MCU-SPC5LNKU been officially released?
  2. If support is available, could someone guide me how to get started with debugging the SPC56 using the AEK-MCU-SPC5LNKU? Or should I use SPC5-UDESTK only for now?
  3. Should I use AEK-MCU-SPC5LNKU or AEK-MCU-SPC5LNK?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hi,

We do not support OpenOCD for SPC56, please refer to our MCU partners for support questions.

Thank you for your understanding.

Hi,

SPC56 is still not supported for OpenOCD and at the moment we have no available plan due to internal priority changes.

You can use AEK-MCU-SPC5LNKU with standard PLS UDE Debugger.

Hello!

There is a chance that SPC56 will be soon supported for Open OCD?

Hi,

I doubt honestly, no business trend for this.

Why do not you move to SPC58 Chorus 1M (SPC582B) ?

Hi, we bought a spc56 for budges and application reasons. The data briefs of the AEK-MCU-SPC5LNK indicated that in 2024 there will be support for the SPC56 series, so I would like to know if there the config files are the only problem, or there is a hardware problem also.

Thanks for your answer,
