Posted on April 03, 2014 at 12:21Hi, I'm trying to setup an analog conversion on SPC560D40L1. I activated the ADC in HAL configuration, defined a adc-conversion-group that consists of channel 0 (ADC1_P[0] on Pin PB4). The ADC does not finish the sample. The ADCD2 state is ADC_ACTIVE and the ADC_MSR.ADCSTATUS is 0x4(Sample). The values in the buffer stay unchanged. My Settings for the conversion group ''Precision'': - Linear, Max Sequential: 4 - Watchdog functions are all disabled - Channel Settings: Inital: 0, Number of channels: 1 - Timing: CTR0_INPLATCH = 1, OFFSHIFT = 0, INPCMP = 2, INPSAMP = 9, CTR1,2 the same - No callbacks are used In the eDMA_MUX_Settings, ADC uses DMA2. Posted on March 31, 2014 at 20:03Hi, it's my first Project with a SPC560D40 an SPC5 Studio. I'm trying to generate PWM-Signals on the Pins RA0 to RA5. When I look in the eMIOs Settings of the SPC560Dxx HAL Driver Component, I can only activate eMIOs group 0 (Channel 9..15) or Group1 (Channels 17..23) but RA0 to RA5 should be Channel 0..5. For these Channels I can only activate ICU drivers. Is this right? Is there an other way to activate PWM on these channels? The provided documentation for SPC5 is very rare. Can I programm it in my own driver? Thanks for help StefanP

Posted on March 19, 2014 at 12:34I do not know why ST does not have GHz range Cortex A8 processors like TI,freescale,samsung,...? I think ST can produce them with low cost of samsung but at the quality of freescale or better. ST have stm32 in cortex M but nothing in A8 GHz range! Is there any problem?

Posted on February 19, 2014 at 03:23Hi, I'm starting to use a SPC56L-Discovery board that I connect with the PC through the SPC5-UDESTK jtag-usb adapter. I installed the SPC5Studio and the UDE 4.0 to debug my board and load programs on it. But I have a ''strange'' error following the steps of the document AN4321 �Getting started with the SPC56LDiscovery�. In fact, all goes perfectly when I generate and compile the application, but when I try to debug it (and automatically it opens the UDE) I have this error:-Message from component 'PpcJtagTargIntf' :  Can't connect target !    Message from component 'PpcJtagTargIntf' :  No Lockstep mode on target detected when using LSM configuration !    Message from component 'PpcJtagTargIntf' :  No JTAG client found !  Please check:  - target power supply  - JTAG cable connection  - target configuration    Message from component 'UDEDebugServer' :  Unable to establish connection

Posted on January 17, 2014 at 22:35With the ST & Freescale alliance and some chips being the same, I wonder if mpc563mzp66 is one of them? If it is, how would I figure out the ST part name? As far as I know it is not as as easy as just swapping the leading M with an S.

Posted on February 05, 2014 at 09:13Dear Sir/Madam,When working with UDE Visual Platform it is possible to view the status of a certain variable. However, in my case it is not possible to view the status of those variables. According to PLS this is due to the fact that no DWARF information is included in the .elf file.However, SPC5 Studio has defined -ggdb in the common options and this should include DWARF version 2. However, it seems that nothing is included. I am using the compiler ppc-vle-I am looking forward to your repsonse.Gijs----- edit 20140206-------I have solved the issue

In past  i have downloaded version 1.3.1, but Help-->About SPC5Studio refer ''Version: 1.3.0''. One revision lesser level. At this time I have a question: -last SPC5Studio version is 2.0 or 1.3.1? -other have downloaded version 2.0 or 1.3.1? #2.0

When I input this key into the website: http://register.hightec-rt.com/ I get the message:Please enter your Activation key in the format 1234-5678-1234-5678 !My key however contains both letters and numbers. Not only numbers. It got accepted by the website from PLS however and I am running the UDE now using this activation code.As long as I don't have the right activation code I keep getting the error: internal compiler error: initialising license system No license for product (-1) (Product: ppc-free-gcc, Version: 2013.01)in SPC5 Studio.I am looking forward to your reply.Thanks!Gijs #compile-license #spc5studio

Posted on January 08, 2014 at 19:55I would like to start playing with the SPC56 in my free time and would like to use the TPU however I can't afford any of the expensive compilers just for a hobby.Does GCC or another compiler support the TPU? Or do any have a license in the reasonable range for a personal license (~$100).

I have installed : 1) SPC5 Studio 1.3 downloaded form st site 2) SPC5-UDESTK (128K limited edition) file ude-4-00-09-spc5-udestk.exe downloaded form http://www.pls-mc.com/spc5-udestk In both instruction (st and pls) I found : ''Run setup.exe and follow in the installing instructions. The SPC5-UDE/STK starterkit version will be installed into the directory C:\SPC5Studio\ude '' But I haven't run.exe and nor st_spc5studio nor pls_ude_... create the C:\SPC5Studio\ude folder. Posted on November 11, 2013 at 04:06Pad configuration information is needed for the SPC56xxMB EVAL board with the SPC 564AADPT324S mini-module. On the SPC564A (324 pin package), almost all of the eTPU2 and eMIOS pins are multiplexed. For example, on the dev board, pin header PJ9 shows a pin labeled ETPUA11. On the SPC564A, etpu channel 11 may be assigned to pad 125 (physical pin number AB4) or pad number 144 (pin L4). There is no way of knowing how the board was routed. These pins are assigned in the SIU at runtime.So far, I have been using the trial and error method, but this is not really acceptable when trying to develop a complicated eTPU routine.Is the pad configuration information available? A copy of siu_init.c would probably be easiest.ThanksKevin

Posted on July 10, 2013 at 10:56Hello, I am trying to configure the ADC to be triggered by the CTU. But using a debugger I can see, that many of my configurations made in Tresos are not taken over to the �C registers. As far as I can see the ''init'' code parts are executed as long as  ADC_ResultsBufferPtr[] inside the genrated file Adc_Cfg.c contains NULL_PTR. Sadly I am not able to find the correct setting to get some values in ADC_ResultsBufferPtr[]. How do I get rid of the NULL_PTR entries. Thanks #spc56

Bulding CAN code based on example for SPC56ELx produce this error:build/obj/can.o: In function `canStart': can.c:(.text_vle.canStart+0x2c): undefined reference to `osalThreadSleepS' collect2: ld returned 1 exit status make: *** [build/out.elf] Error 1 CAN configuration it is same that example. But i have added Chibios. I have replaced osalThreadSleepS(1) with osalThreadSleepSeconds(1) in :C:\SPC5Studio\eclipse\plugins\org.chibios.spc5.components.spc5hal_1.0.0.201310031641\component\lib\src But it seem  not correct. Why compiler don't find function osalThreadSleepS?  there are conflicts with Chibios? #osalthreadsleeps #can

Posted on October 18, 2013 at 16:46I just installed SPC5Studio, and tried to create new project called FirstSPC5Project.  I went through File->New->C Project and created the Hello World project.  I chose to put project in a custom location.  The project seems to have been created and put where I expect on my hard drive but it does not show up in the Project Explorer.  The only things I get in the project explorer are a bunch of example projects. I've attached a word file with a screen shot showing that the project is not there.  Any help is appreciated.  This is indeed my first SPC5 project so it is quite possible I am missing something obvious.

I run SPC5Studio v1.2.1.exe as Admin on Win7 64bit, but it fails and reports: ''Unable to save file: C:\WINDOWS\Downloaded Installations\... Studio.msi'' i click OK, a directory chooser pops up, i choose a directory i am guaranteed to have write access to, after a little while another message pops up: ''1628: Failed to complete installation'' hitting OK, this window closes, end of story. on my System ''C:\WINDOWS\Downloaded Installations\'' does not exist. how can i get SPC5 Studio installed on my Win7 64bit System? regards rainer

Posted on July 17, 2013 at 16:00In the course of learning SPC5 Studio I modified the Makefile and rules.mk to output a Motorola srec (.mot) in addition to the regular outputs. This can be very useful for those of us with a Motorola/Freescale background.The question is; How to make these changes permanent? Whenever I re-generate the application, rules.mk is overwritten.

Posted on July 25, 2013 at 16:29Hello,Background:We are using the SPC56EL70 and it's Flash driver in our Firmware.Problem description:While using the Erase API of the Flash driver we have erased the shadow memory area of the Flash memory.After having erased this area, when the MCU was given a hard reset (by a Power ON/OFF cycle), it is observed to be unusable.The debugger does not connect to the MCU, and we are unable to download new Firmware.Problem severity:The shadow memory erase has been executed on all 5 of our MCU boards, as a result of which all 5 boards have become defunct.We need urgent help and support to restore the boards to a working state. Kindly provide guidance to help us overcome this problem.Thanks a lot in advance.

Posted on July 17, 2013 at 15:16Hi, I want to explore the SPC5 Studio. Therefore I created a new SPC5 C/C++ Makefile project. In the configuration.xml I added via the graphical editor a ''STMicroelectronics SPC560B/Cxx Platform Component''. To this component I added a ''SPC5-HAL SPC560BCxx OS-Less Runtime Package Component''. In one of its sub-components (''SPC5-HAL Portable HAL Component'') I tried to activate some drivers. But there are only two drivers configurable (''PAL'' and ''Serial''). All other drivers can't be selected. (1) My first question is now whether I forgot something important to activate other drivers or is there an other way to do that. (2) Second I wanted to request if there are some more documentations about the SPC5 Studio than those which can be found in the Studio itself. Best regards,<

Posted on July 09, 2013 at 14:15 Hello, i have a doubt. The Daughter/adapter board SPC56ELADPT144S is for SPC56xxEL family. In SPC56ELADPT144S datasheet is written:  device supported SPC56EL60L5. But when i search in WEB page for SPC56xxEL family i don't find SPC56EL60L5. WEB page: http://www.st.com/web/en/catalog/sense_power/FM2098/SC963/SS1534 in MCU list there are SPC56EL60L3 or SPC56EL70L5. SPC56ELADPT144S support a MCU that it don't exists?  i think that's impossible! There is an error? However, error apart,  are MCU SPC56EL70L5 compatible with SPC56ELADPT144S?
