About the TOF sensors vl53l1x, what kind of transparent material is necessary to protect the sensor?

I'm using the evaluation board, that is provided with two type of transparent windows. Is possible to known what kind of material are they made ? If I use a transparent plastic film, the range is reduced to 40cm.
