Calibration Values LSM6DS33/LSM9DS1
Hello everyone
I'm currently working on a research project concerning IMUs, among others a LSM6DS33 and a LSM9DS1 module. In the datasheet for the LSM6DS33 and LSM9DS1 a factory calibration is mentioned (e.g. bottom of page 40). Since nothing else is mentioned about these calibration values I have several questions:
- What exactly does this factory calibration entail and does the calibration change the sensor output?
- If so how do the calibration values affect the output of the sensor/which model is used for the calibration?
- Is it at all possible to obtain the uncalibrated sensor signals and how?
- It is mentioned that the registers containing the factory calibration values should not be changed, but not that they can't be changed. Is it at all possible (at own risk of course) to change/ reset these calibration values? It says in the Data sheet that they will be restored at the next boot anyways.
- The register mapping doesn't seem to provide the adress of these calibration values. Where are they stored?
I realize that these are pretty specific questions, to which the answers might not be public in the datasheet for certain reasons. However I would appreciate it if anyone with knowledge concerning the calibration values of these sensors could shed some light on this subject.
Thanks a lot in advance!
