Can VL53L3CX sensors close together, working at the same time, disturb each other?

Hi,

my name is Vincenzo.

Trying to make some simple applications with ToF VL53L3CX the following doubt arose:

Can several ToFs, close to each other, work at the same time without the risk of the measurements being disturbed?

In other words, if different ToF VL53L3CX, set in the same way, start the measurement at the same time, is it possible that the laser generated by a ToF is received by the collector of a different ToF?

Thanks in advance for your support

    Hi Vincenzo,

Good question! Of course. several L3CX can work together without interference. Actually each sensor has its own reference SPAD, it knows perfectly the time zero when the laser pulse is sent. The photons received from other devices will be seen as noise. The SNR will be impacted but not the measure accuracy or interference issue. Thanks, Julien
