Question

Does LSM303 has high sensing range than the bosch BMM150 sensor in terms of magnetic field range(x,y,z)(micro tesla)?

Have been working with magnetometers for the car parking application. the previous sensors used has not satisfied the range for the application required. Does LSM303 detect at a range of 30cms?

Hi @BRaj_48 , as I can see from the BMM150 sensor datasheet, the magnetometer dynamic range is ±13 gauss on x and y axis and ±25 gauss along z axis, while the sensitivity is 3 mgauss/LSB. On the other hand, the LSM303AGR magnetometer part has a wider dynamic range (±50 gauss), while the minimum detectable signal is 1.5mgauss. The LSM303AGR capability is higher both in terms of Full Scale and resolution, so I believe that it can be cover your application requirements. Regards

Thank you for your time @Eleon BORLINI, and i have an another doubt as which will have the capability to detect maximum distance is it milli-tesla or the micro-tesla(as the dynamic range)?

Should be some tenth of mT... Regards
