help getting inemo board working

I received the mk1062v2 board today. Eventually go it working by upgrading software and firmware. However I cannot get the magnetometers to deliver any data. They flatline. Also of interest is that in raw data mode the temperature is about 800 degrees whereas in AHRS mode it is probably correctly at 34 deg C. Can anyone assist in nexplaining whether I need to do something else to get the magnetometers working or how I can test to see if there is a dead on arrival roblem with this part of the board.
