The static current of LIS3MDL is 0.2mA while the pin is connect to ground serial with 10K resistor, if this pin is floating, the current 0.07mA.

The sensor is communication with Noridic nrf52 MCU via I2C. Please advise the appropriate connected for the pin SDO/SA1.

SDO/SA1 pin defines the I2C address.

If you have a freedom to choose the I2C address connect this pin to VDD_IO.

The pin can be connected to GND as well but the current consumption will be higher due to internal pull-up.

How about LSM6DS33, it is work togehter with LIS3MDL, at this moment, the SDO/SA0 pin is connect to Ground.

For LSM6DS33 the pull-up on SA0 pin is disabled by default, so you can connect it to VDDIO or GND without impact on current consumption.
