How to get actual sampling rate of MEMS accelerometer output ?

I have observed from the FFT that MEMS accelerometer output do not provide correct peak frequency (frequency at max. amplitude). There are some references that talk about variability of sampling rate of MEMS accelerometer. What are the different ways to get the actual sampling rate ?

which accelerometer part number are you referring to?

Please note that, in general, the nominal ODR can be different from the true ODR (that can vary from sample to sample for some fraction of %, and among device part numbers), and a good practice for measuring it can be to activate the Data ready and acquire that signal with a scope/counter from an interrupt pin.
