Hello,

Is it mandatory that 100nF and 10uF to the VDD line has to be ceramic and aluminium respectively?

Also, we had three custom boards built with IIS2DH. Surprisingly, all three were giving a different XYZ values when kept in the same orientation. Please give me some suggestions as to what I have done wrong or in what I could do to mitigate this problem.

Thanks,

Ranjith

How different? Do you save any calibration data based on testing in a uniformly aligned test fixture? Do that parts lay flat on the PCB, and exactly the same orientation?

You want the bulk capacitor to have a low ESR so it can deliver instantaneous current without resistance. While the material/construction will impact the ESR, it is the ESR that should be the parameter used in the selection.
