Is the LIS302DLTR Accelerometer still available to buy somewhere or is there a replacement product with the same package ?

Good morning,

For the company I'm working for (the CEA in Grenoble), I need to rebuild an electronic device of an old project.

In order to build the PCBs, I'm looking for a specific accelerometer: the 3-axis accelerometer "LIS302DLTR" with a LGA package.

I can't find any of this product online, distributors like RS or Farnell say that this product has been stopped and that it's no longer manufactured.

Is there a way to buy this product again somewhere online ?

Is there any replacement of this product, with the exact same package so I can put it directly in my PCBs without changing the design or the software ?

Thank you !

Sincerely,

Antoine

Understood... I just checked with Octopart and it seems there are some devices available in stock, for example at Win Source distributor one.

It depend also how many samples do you need and how long will last your project...

Hi Antoine, unfortunately an accelerometer with 14-LGA 3mmx5mm package is no more produced by ST, so I would not rely on pin-to-pin compatibility... this is indeed a very old product (at least in the perspective of a standard MEMS sensor's maturity lifetime), so since you have to re-new an old project, I would suggest you to switch to a more recent product with similar characteristics, for example the LIS3DH or the more recent LIS2DW12. They are not part of the 10-year longevity program, but they'll have a long life. Btw, which is the application you need to implement or upgrade? Regards

Thank you for the fast answer.

Changing the LGA14 package of the accelerometer would mean that I would have to reroute the PCB, and I'm unfortunately not planning on doing that since the PCBs have already been manufactured...

Since ST does not manufacture those accelerometers anymore, do you know any reliable distributors that would still have some of them in their stock ?

By the way, this accelerometer needs to be included in the PCB of a LCD module for a medical device.

It is always a good ideas to check production and availability status before ordering a board...

I know but these PCBs have been manufactured a long time ago and the plan was to use these old PCBs that were in our stock.

Moreover, the project of rebuilding these old PCB's isn't our top priority at the moment.

But I agree that it's always better to check availability of the components before manufacturing the PCBs.
