L3G4200D - STATUS_REG and Spykes

Hi,

reading data from L3G4200D i observed some spikes.

So i set the BDU :

I read before MSB and then LSB for X, Y, then Z such as described in the datasheet.

reading the status_reg to know when new data is available i saw that STAUS_REG is alwais 0xFF.

This means that :

ZYXOR ZOR YOR XOR ZYXDA ZDA YDA XDA

are all set.

what is the correct usage of this register ?
