LIS2DE12TR Life Cycle details required

Hi Team,

We had put LIS2DE12TR in our camera design whose 2nd proto manufacture is to be started in 1st week of August.

But the part is not found in stock at Digikey or Mouser.

Found some stock with but the date code is 2012.

Please check and confirm if we can accept this date coded part.

Urgent response is expected.

Thanks.

Emil

    Hi Emil @EGeor.1 ,

My suggestion is to open a case in the OLS page for this kind of requests, so that they can disclose you details about the life time of the product and, especially in this period, the availability on the market.

That data code is a bit old, I would say... a good choice would be a device assembled within 3 years from now.

If there were no delivery issues you to switch to a more recent device, such as the LIS2DW12, which is pin-to-pin and (almost) reg-map compatible to the LIS2DE12TR, and is more performant than the LIS2DE12.

    Dear Eleon,
    Thanks for the detailed suggestion.
I couldn't confirm on the bandwidth of this sensor compared with the older one. Can you please suggest on it.

    Hi Emil,

the sensor mechanical bandwidth is similar in both devices.

The data bandwidth is on the other side in general determined by the maximum ODR, according to the Nyquist ODR/2 formula: it is 1600Hz /2 in the LIS2DW12 case, and 5376Hz /2 in the LIS2DE12 case, but the mechanical bandwidth is similar in the two cases.
