LIS2HH Activity/Inactivity functionality

Section 5.1 of the datasheet explains how to use the activity/inactivity block. However the register description:

8.3

ACT_TH

S (1Eh)

Activity threshold register (r/w). Its value is fixed at 0x00. Inactivity threshold

I have a little trouble making any concrete sense of that section. But it somehow indicates that although this register exists it is hardwired to 0?

What exactly is going on with ACT_THS and ACT_DUR?
