LSM303D Problem

Hi,
We are working on a temperature logger application, We are using LSM303D as accelerometer in our application to wake up system on movement.
We have interfaced it over I2C lines, there are few other sensors on I2C lines along with LSM303D, with ATMega1284P MCU.
After assembling LSM303D and addressing LSM303D over I2C lines destroyed MCU, after that it was not able to function properly.
It happened twice after I2C calls to LSM303D, If you have undergone this problem in past kinldy let us know the reasons/ solutions.
