Should my program get 1000 mg when F3 Discovery Board is in steady state on a horizontal surface?

Measurement range = [-2g;+2g];

Linear Axeleration Sensitivity = 1mg/LSB;

High Resolution Mode

I get 15344 mg (0x3BF0) and -16912 mg (0xBDFO) when the board is upside-down.

The output of the accelerometer sensor is 12-bit left adjusted. You have to divide the sensor output value by 16, then you will get correct value in [mg] unit.
