LSM6DS3 3D Gyroscope best ODR Selection

Hello all,

We have interfaced LSM6DS3 with a wireless microcontroller by I2C for .

I want to know how do I select the best ODR value?

Is there any standard methods for selecting ODR?

According to datasheet I found that if ODR is high the current consumption of the sensor is more if it less the current consumption is less, expect this is there any parameters will affected by changing the ODR?

In gyroscope Bandwidth selection LPF2 cut-off frequency depends upon ODR selection? What is it mean?

Thank you

D.Vishnu

Have you heard of the Nyquist theorem ?

That depends on the signal bandwidth you want to cover (know & react upon) in your application.

    Hello AvaTar,

Yes I heard of nyquist theorem, but I don't have an idea how it will be applicable here.

Say If I have selected 52Hz as my ODR the digital LPF cut-off frequency is 15.8 Hz(3.8 chapter, page no 13, application notes), Is that mean now my bandwidth is 15.8 Hz.

If possible please explain this part of section in the document.

    Thank you for your time.

    What part ?

It is just the introduction, naming device properties.

Cut-off frequency is another specific term, elsewhere called -3dB frequency.
