STEVAL-MKI109V3 Doesn't Work and can't update

I just received the STEVAL-MKI109V3 kit and it appears to be useless so far.

The Unico-GUI tool sees the main board but cannot see the sensor plugged into it.

I measured the VDD_DUT and VDDDIO_DUT nets and there is no voltage. But maybe that is supposed to be enabled by the gui app?

I tried to update the firmware on this board as well and the CubeProgrammer just says the file exceeds the device size or something like that.

Anything else I should try before returning this thing?

I've made some progress getting it to work.

I had to update my STM32CubeProgrammer software. It was at version 2.0. Going to version 2.15.0 let me then update the firmware in the MKI109V3 board. Now it enables power to the DIP-24 socket and some other LEDs light up
