Hi DS @dsamm ,
In general, you can indifferently use the STEVAL-STWINKT1 platform or the STEVAL-STWIN KT1B one, except in the case you want to use the new features, that are summarized as follow:
- STM32L4+ “U? part number to enable MCD locking mechanism for 3rd party libraries (as in all mcd Nucleo/Disco/EVAL board)
- STSAFE-A110: soldered directly on the board
- IMP23ABSU: Ultrasound industrial-grade analog MEMS microphone --> but this is very similar to the MP23ABS1 in most cases
- BlueNRG-M2SA: (new) BlueNRG-2 BLE module
- New plastic to satisfy anti inflammability requirements (blue)
At the moment, the only software designed to run exclusively on the new STEVAL-STWIN KT1B is the FP-AI-NANOEDG1, that uses the locking mechanism for 3rd party libraries.
So, if you are using the platform regardless the hardware differences, you can safely use the STEVAL-STWINKT1.
In case this answer was helpful for you, please select it as "best".
