VL6180X Sub-mm Output

Hello, 

The core of my questions is how would I get a sub-mm output from this sensor?

All output I have come across have been to 1mm so is this an inherent characteristic of the sensor or is it rounded? If it is rounded how would I access the raw data from the chip or output the proximity in 0.1mm format for example?
