What is the reason for Rapid increase of Temperature in STM32MP157AAD3?

Our board is similar to STM32MP157C-DK2 Disco board - All the Developer packages has been installed, After providing required functional voltages board's temperature rises rapidly as well as exponentially. After certain temperature there is some abnormal functional activities in the board. What is the reason and solution for the issue faced?

Hi @JG.2​ ,

It is normal to have some heat from the STM32MP157AAD3, depending on activity.

If your board heating much more than DK2 board, I will suspect an HW issue.

Please check the source of the heat (using fingers or thermal camera), it could be from another component on your board.

Check power supply levels Vs datasheet.

If issue on only one board, please check for manufacturing issues (reversed component, short-circuit, open-circuit, etc...).

Please check very very carefully and thoroughly your schematics and ballout for STM32MP157AAD3 Vs product datasheet and AN5031.
