The ST6232 datasheet refers to a separate ''power supply'' for the ADC to be appplied on pins AVdd and AVss. Is this actually the PSU or the ADC reference voltage (as I think it is). Is the Power supply for the ADC actually derrived from Vdd and Vss of the MCU.

I'm planning to power the MCU from 5Vdc with a 2.5V precision reference to AVdd and AVss ............ will this work

    Hi,

The pin is for ADC power supply decoupling only.

It is internally connected to the supply rail.

This is detailled in the datasheet

DO NOT connect a different supply, as you can imagine, bad things will happen!!

    hope this helps

    The Data sheet says this:

''AV DD and AV SS . Power is supplied to the MCUA/D converter independently from the rest of the chip using these two pins.''

    I'm really confused ??
