Hi,

I am using M34E04 I2C EEPROM

read and write access works fine but I cannot enable write protection

I have verified the WC pin is in the right state (logic 1) but I can still write to the device at this mode

Any tip?

Regards

Assaf

    Hello,

Do you follow the command described in DS ?

What is the ACK / NoAck response of the eeprom during the instruction ?

    Hi,

I am not intending to use the SW commands for activating the write protect

I am only interested in the HW write protect using the WC pin

Per data sheet setting the WC pin has higher priority over the SW commands

Also the SW commands require VHV (high voltage) which I would like to avoid

Is there any limitation with using the WC pin?

    hello,

yes WC has higher priority. With HW write protect enabled , the memory array is protected against write command.

(warning not valable for SWP,CWP command)
