Collector-Emitter Cut-Off Current Specification (Ices) – STR1550 & STR2550

Dear STMicroelectronics Community,

I hope you are doing well.

I am currently reviewing the datasheets for your STR1550 and STR2550 transistors. While both documents provide detailed electrical characteristics, I noticed that the collector-emitter cut-off current (ICES) is not specified.

Could you kindly confirm the ICES values for both the STR1550 and STR2550?

This information is important for our qualification and comparison process.

Thank you in advance for your assistance.

Best regards,

MahdiL

    Welcome @MahdiL, to the community!

Please note: ICEO (collector-emitter cut-off current) and ICES (collector-emitter cut-off leakage current) are not the same thing.

    • ICEO = (1+β)ICBO
ICEO depends on the current amplification β of the respective device; ICBO is specified in the data sheet.
    • ICES only applies to reverse operation and is not typically specified in the data sheet

    Does it answer your question?

    Regards
    /Peter

    Hi Peter,

    Thanks for the clarification.

In our application, the ICES parameter is required, as reverse operation is part of the operating conditions. Since it's not listed in the datasheet, would it be possible to obtain more detailed specifications or typical values for this parameter from the manufacturer or internal documentation for STR1550 and STR2550?

    Best regards,

These devices have been on the market since 2010 and all relevant parameters at that time were entered in the data sheets. No further information is available.

However, I assume that by ICES you mean the cut-off current with a short-circuited base, in which case you can refer to ICBO.
