    Hi,

I am using ST72F264G2 powered with 3.3VDC. To lower consumption I put it to Wait mode (cant use Active Halt as I need to receive signals form outside and external interrupt wont wake it up from Active Halt).

My consumption is about 7.3 mA

What would be the power consumption (a guesstimate) if I used ST72F324LK2 which is a chip specially designed for low-power applications.

Will it lower power consumption significantly?

    Thank you

I know nothing about the ST72F264G2.

However I know the basics of cmos technology. To save power either reduce VDD or fcpu or both.

I use the 72F324J6T6 part at 5v and the IDD is approx 2mA @ 3.6868Mhz xtal freq.

If you are bothered about power always use the lowest xtal freq and VDD you can in your application.

PS I think the B version of the 72F32X/L parts have the wake up on external interrupt feature fixed.
